Trucks all advertise themselves as "tough." Drivers of these pickups are also less likely to buckle up, according to IIHS research, possibly because they believe their trucks provide adequate protection even without a belt (or because they do not fear death).

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety just dropped a truth-bomb on us, though. Not all trucks are safe.
