Ford Assuages Your Range-Anxiety Woes with a 610-Mile Range Fusion Energi Plug-in Hybrid

How far could you get on a single tank of gas? It's a question that bothers you from time to time, as you realize how frequently you take trips to the gas station just from your daily commute, and one that becomes particularly poignant as you plan a road trip, and worry about finding yourself stranded 50 miles from the nearest fuel pump.

A recent Harris Poll, conducted in March 2016, found that the majority of Americans think a plug-in hybrid has a maximum range under 300 miles. In reality, the 2017 Fusion Energi doubles that expectation with an estimated 610-mile range.

"Plug-in hybrids are electric vehicles until you run down the battery," said Wade Jackson, marketing manager for Ford Fusion, "then they work exactly like a conventional hybrid."

Fusion Energi, with a full battery and a full tank of gas, can go from Englewood, NJ all the way to Montreal, Canada without stopping, and would still have up to 35 miles of range left.
